Decision 42 is a new 2026 Exceptional Extrait from Amouage, created by perfumer Quentin Bisch. It takes the original Decision DNA and makes it darker, smokier, richer, and more intense, with an exceptionally high 42% perfume oil concentration.
Amouage Decision 42 is an electrifying exploration of contrast—brilliant spice and citrus colliding with dark woods, smoky resins, and enveloping warmth. Pink pepper, bergamot, cardamom, neroli, and cinnamon create a vibrant, almost electric opening before revealing a dramatic heart of frankincense, juniper, myrrh, sandalwood, and rectified pine tar.
As it settles, patchouli and cedarwood deepen the composition while vanilla and labdanum introduce a smooth, resinous warmth. The result is powerful and sophisticated: smoky woods, aromatic spice, incense, and warm ambered vanilla woven into an exceptionally concentrated extrait.
What It Smells Like
The first impression is bright and aromatic, with bergamot and neroli bringing freshness against the warmth of cinnamon, cardamom and pink pepper. As it develops, the fragrance turns noticeably darker: juniper, incense, myrrh and pine tar introduce a smoky, almost charred-wood quality.
In the drydown, vanilla and labdanum smooth those darker elements, creating a warm resinous finish over cedarwood and patchouli. Compared with the original Decision, Decision 42 is deeper, smokier and more resinous, with a stronger emphasis on woods and incense.
