Radical Rose Extrait — “An Overdose of Rose Absolute”
This Extrait is a bold, gender-neutral declaration of rose in its purest, most intense form. At the core lies Rose Centifolia Absolute from France, organically grown by Matière Première in Grasse — used at levels few perfumers dare attempt.
To deepen and complicate the rose note, perfumer Aurélien Guichard adds Croatian Immortelle Absolute as a “guest ingredient,” giving the rose a darker, more mineral-tinged character.
The fragrance unfolds in waves: it opens with warm, spicy touches of saffron and pepper-berries, brightening the rose with a luminous, slightly exotic sparkle.
At the heart, the full-bodied rose blooms, carrying a rich floral depth — not girlish or frothy, but mature, sensuous and honeyed. Over time, the base emerges: patchouli essence from Indonesia and labdanum absolute from Andalusia bring woody, resinous, slightly earthy and balsamic undertones — rounding the scent into a complex, smoky-woody dry down.
The result is a dark, moody, opulent rose — not a sugary or “romantic” rose, but one that feels elegant, intense, and sophisticated. Perfect for evenings, special occasions, or any time you want a rose scent with depth, character, and presence.
