Nettuno

A frozen rose adrift in a dark, mineral sea. Mendittorosa Nettuno is one of the house's most atmospheric and oceanic creations, a Talismans extrait that pairs an aqueous cyclamen opening with a complex rose accord, modern leather, Haitian vetiver and powdery iris. Unlike mainstream aquatics it feels dark, mineralic, meditative and deeply artistic. It was composed by perfumer Amélie Bourgeois of Flair Paris, with concept and creative design by Stefania Squeglia.

The Story

Nettuno is inspired by Neptune, god of the sea, intuition, mystery and emotional depth, and by the astrological symbolism of the planet. The house presents it as a talisman of duality, compassion and transformation, a celestial mirror of the soul, and explores the spiritual and emotional power of water through scent. The heavy glass bottle carries a hand-cut mosaic "cosmic mirror" by Luisa Degli Specchi and a silver-painted wooden cap. It is an Extrait de Parfum at 24%.

How It Smells

Opening
Salty, mineral freshness and airy marine nuances: aqueous cyclamen, pink pepper, blue ginger and nutmeg lend a cool, spiced sparkle.

Heart
A complex rose accord, described by the house as a frozen rose drifting through nebulous musks, sits at the centre.

Dry Down
Modern leather, Haitian vetiver, carrot seeds, iris, benzoin, rum and white musks form a resinous, woody depth. The overall impression is of standing near dark ocean cliffs during a storm rather than on a tropical beach.
