Volcanic soil, smoldering birch and a flicker of raspberry. Terroni by Orto Parisi is earth set on fire. Smoldering woods, volcanic smoke, dark resins, warm spice and sensual sweetness collide in a fragrance that feels raw, powerful and unforgettable. Fearless, magnetic and deeply primal.
The Story
Terroni was released in 2017 by Orto Parisi, the house of perfumer Alessandro Gualtieri. The house sets it in the soil, with the thought that there is something fulfilling about putting your hands in the earth and that roots shape a person's character. Its cap is tumbled gunmetal inlaid with volcanic stone, meant to evoke the beginning of the Earth, and the scent itself is spicy, smoky, slightly nutty and somewhat mysterious.
How It Smells
Opening
Dark, fiery and immediately intense, a striking blend of smoke, warm spices and a subtle fruity sweetness from raspberry. The first impression is volcanic, like burning woods, glowing embers and scorched earth with something seductive hiding underneath.
Heart
Deeper and richer. Birch, amber, benzoin and woods create a molten, smoky heart that feels resinous, earthy and powerful. The raspberry stays in the background, a mysterious sweetness that keeps the smoke from turning dry or harsh. Many wearers describe burning forest, hot stone and smoldering warmth.
Dry Down
Massive, sensual and unforgettable. Guaiac wood, vetiver, cedar, musk, patchouli, tonka and vanilla leave a warm, earthy trail that lasts for hours. It smells dangerous, magnetic and deeply artistic.
