Portrayal Man by Amouage is one of the most distinctive modern masculine releases from the house. Launched in 2019 and created by perfumer Pierre Negrin, it was inspired by the rebellious spirit of the late 1920s—jazz culture, artistic freedom, and breaking conventions. Clean yet provocative, it centers around violet leaf, vetiver, and cade smoke.

How It Smells

It opens with violet leaf—green, metallic, crisp, and slightly floral with a cool modern edge. The heart and base are built around vetiver, giving earthy dry woody depth and masculine refinement. Cade oil adds a smoky, tar-like leather nuance that gives attitude and darkness. The overall effect is green, smoky, woody, sharp, and highly stylish.
