Quentin Bisch: The Perfumer Behind Amouage, Barrois & Crivelli
A boy in London who could name every scent in the room, a theater troupe, and a phone call that changed everything.
Quentin Bisch is a French-born Givaudan perfumer behind some of the most talked-about fragrances of the last decade, from Parfums de Marly Delina to Amouage Decision and Marc-Antoine Barrois Ganymede. This guide tells his story and walks through every Bisch fragrance we carry, house by house.

Who is Quentin Bisch?
Quentin Bisch was born in 1983 in Strasbourg and moved to London at the age of five. He had an unusually strong sense of smell from childhood, and the fragrances around him left a mark: his mother wore Shalimar, Poison, Loulou and Coco, while his father wore Habit Rouge, Derby and Vetiver. By the age of eleven he knew he wanted to become a perfumer.
His route there was not a straight line. He studied theater and led a troupe for six years, then contacted Jean Guichard, director of the Givaudan perfumery school. He started as an assistant at Robertet under Michel Almairac, and was accepted at the Givaudan school a year later. He now works as a perfumer at Givaudan, and made his fine-fragrance debut in 2010 with Reminiscence Essence Eau de Parfum.
Since then he has signed more than 200 creations. Among the best known are Parfums de Marly Delina, Carolina Herrera Good Girl and Bad Boy, Jean Paul Gaultier La Belle and Le Beau, Rabanne 1 Million Parfum, Chloé Nomade, Issey Miyake Le Sel d'Issey, and Marc-Antoine Barrois B683 and Ganymede.

- Prix du Phénix 2023

The Bisch style
Bisch favors bold contrasts and unexpected notes, and his background in theater shows in the way his fragrances tell a story. He speaks of finding "beauty and sensuality from the invisible," and he rejects dupes. You can see the signature across our shelves: pear against hazelnut, tuberose against paprika, tobacco against rum.

Amouage Decision
Created around clarity, confidence and momentum, Decision opens bright and peppery with bergamot and pink pepper. Frankincense, juniper and myrrh bring a cool, resinous woodiness, and the drydown settles into warm vanilla with patchouli. A 33% Eau de Parfum that smells fresh, woody and aromatic.

Amouage Decision 42
A 2026 Exceptional Extrait at 42% perfume oil, aged six weeks. Neroli, cardamom and cinnamon sharpen the lightning effect, while juniper meets patchouli and rectified pine tar for a darker, smokier profile. Vanilla and labdanum warm the base.

Amouage Existence
Launched in 2025 to complete Amouage's Odyssey collection and inspired by standing above the clouds on Oman's highest peak. Lily of the valley, rose and aldehydes open it, frankincense, Mystikal and labdanum add soft resinous warmth, and white musk, benzoin and ambergris leave a clean, skin-like finish.

Amouage Guidance
Released in 2023, Guidance opens with a striking contrast of pear and hazelnut, juicy and creamy. A floral heart of rose and jasmine sambac with saffron leads into a drydown of sandalwood, ambergris, Akigalawood, vanilla and cistus.

Amouage Guidance 46
The Exceptional Extrait of Guidance, launched in 2024 at 46% perfume oil. Pear, rose water, hazelnut, bitter almond and frankincense lead to a radiant floral heart, then a deeper base of sandalwood, vanilla, ambergris, labdanum and cypriol. Richer, smoother and creamier than the original.

Amouage Purpose 50

Marc-Antoine Barrois

For Marc-Antoine Barrois, Bisch created fragrances that feel mineral, leathery and a little otherworldly.
Marc-Antoine Barrois Ganymede EDP
Bright and sharp with Italian mandarin and saffron, then a smooth mineral-suede accord that feels metallic, airy, salty and luxurious. Immortelle adds a warm golden glow while violet leaf keeps it cool and modern.
$300 · 100ml · Shop Ganymede EDP
Marc-Antoine Barrois Ganymede Extrait
Deeper, warmer and darker than the Eau de Parfum. Smoky incense, resinous myrrh, warm mandarin and syrupy immortelle replace some of the metallic freshness, while keeping the otherworldly signature.
$395 · 50ml Extrait · Shop Ganymede Extrait
Marc-Antoine Barrois B683 EDP
The fragrance that launched the house into the niche world before Ganymede. A spicy opening of black pepper, saffron, chili and nutmeg gives way to a smooth suede-leather texture wrapped in violet leaf and warm woods, with vanilla, amber and oak moss beneath.
$300 · 100ml · Shop B683 EDP
Marc-Antoine Barrois B683 Extrait
An intensified, more opulent B683: darker, denser and smokier. Oud, resinous woods and richer leather textures join the saffron, pepper and violet leaf while preserving the refined sophistication of the original.

Marc-Antoine Barrois Encelade
One of the most daring scents in the Barrois collection. An intense burst of green rhubarb and woody brightness turns darker and richer with vetiver, Atlas cedar, Australian sandalwood and warm tonka bean. Wild, volcanic and almost extraterrestrial.
$300 · 100ml · Shop Encelade
Marc-Antoine Barrois Tilia
Built around linden blossom, Tilia feels golden, sunny and airy. Jasmine sambac and sweet broom open it, powdery heliotrope softens the heart, and a modern woody-musky base with ambroxan and vetiver completes it.
$300 · 100ml · Shop Tilia
Marc-Antoine Barrois Aldebaran
An artistic take on tuberose that is luminous, spicy, creamy and earthy rather than tropical or sweet. Paprika adds warmth and a savory texture, maté tea brings a dry green bitterness, and tonka bean rounds out the base.
$300 · 100ml · Shop Aldebaran
Maison Crivelli
Bisch's Maison Crivelli fragrances lean into rich naturals and glamorous character.
Maison Crivelli Hibiscus Mahajád
Opens electric with hibiscus, cassis, peppermint and cinnamon, like chilled hibiscus tea over crushed berries. A velvety Damask rose heart with leather and ambrette leads to a dry down of vanilla, musks and soft leather, known for big projection.
$560 · 100ml (50ml Extrait $325) · Shop Hibiscus Mahajád
Maison Crivelli Tubéreuse Astrale
Creamy tuberose lit by glowing cinnamon bark, like tuberose under a starlit sky. Osmanthus, carrot seed and cistus add a velvety heart with apricot-leather nuances, and the base settles into musk, vanilla and soft suede.
$325 · 50ml Extrait · Shop Tubéreuse Astrale
Maison Crivelli Tobacco Carnival
A 32% Extrait where smooth tobacco meets dark, sweet rum. Boozy and syrupy at first, then ripe fruit, warm spice and smoky woods. Not a dry cigar tobacco: the liqueur effect makes it playful, seductive and gourmand-leaning.
$350 · 50ml Extrait · Shop Tobacco Carnival
Maison Crivelli Musc Nurāsana
A radiant, contemplative extrait inspired by stretching on a terrace at first light. Bergamot, ginger and cardamom open it, a Damask rose and frankincense heart follows, and the base settles into soft musk, fir balsam, labdanum and tonka bean.
$325 · 50ml Extrait · Shop Musc Nurāsana
Liquides Imaginaires
Liquides Imaginaires Desert Suave
A journey through a mystical oasis. It opens with radiant cardamom, mandarin and clove, then orange blossom, rose and a rich date accord. The dry down of toasted sesame, cedar and cistus is warm, textured and gourmand.
$220 · 100ml · Shop Desert Suave
Bon Parfumeur
Bon Parfumeur 403 Myrrh Shadow Extrait
A rich amber-spicy fragrance built around smoky myrrh, warm benzoin, exotic spices and smooth vanilla. Citrus and aromatic herbs open it before it turns darker, warmer and resinous, with Atlas cedar, patchouli and musk underneath.
