The Story
The founding creation of Maison Mataha's Mémoire Gourmande collection, Escapade Gourmande was inspired by the memory of a crème brûlée, the caramelized sugar crust giving way to a warm, enveloping vanilla. Vincent Ricord translates that sensation into a darker vanilla with a burnt facet.
How It Smells
Opening
Like the top of a freshly torched crème brûlée: warm caramelized black sugar and rich sweetness fill the air. It is intensely gourmand but smooth and luxurious rather than synthetic.
Heart
The vanilla becomes deeper and more velvety while tonka adds a soft toasted warmth. It feels thick, comforting and addictive, like warm custard with cashmere softness on skin.
Dry Down
Sensual and enveloping: fluffy musk, rich vanilla and benzoin's sweet amber warmth.
