It opens with cardamom, pink pepper, cypress and cypriol, deepens into cedarwood, patchouli, iris and oud, and finishes in a smooth base of vetiver, amber, musk, sandalwood and vanilla.

The Story

Carved Oud is inspired by the artistry of ancient temple carvings and regal adornment, and by an Indian ritual of adorning a woman with perfumes and jewels in sixteen stages. The South Indian oud at its center is meant to recall the incense burned in Indian temples, lending the composition a sacred, ceremonial atmosphere.

The oud is polished and wearable, blended seamlessly with cedarwood, patchouli and iris rather than turning animalic or overpowering.

The Story

Created by Cartier in 1928 for an Indian Maharaja, the Patiala Necklace is an impossibly opulent piece of jewellery at the centre of an unsolved mystery. Set with thousands of diamonds in platinum and holding one of the largest yellow diamonds in the world, it disappeared in 1948, only for pieces to resurface at auction over the years, a disappearance never explained. In that spirit of opulence and mystery, Thameen presents Patiala.
