Elephant
Regular price $285.00Darjeeling, incense and cocoa drifting through a damp, leafy canopy. Zoologist Elephant is a green, woody and subtly gourmand unisex fragrance that unfolds from tea and magnolia through coconut milk, cocoa and incense to an elegant sandalwood dry down. Perfumer Chris Bartlett composed it for Zoologist Perfumes in 2017, and it was an Art and Olfaction Awards 2018 Independent Category finalist.
The Story
Huge trees quake at their approach, vulnerable leaves shuddering as the ground rumbles under heavy footsteps. They come with appetites as massive as their lumbering bodies, and nothing is spared from their bottomless hunger: trees stripped bare, roots upturned, even the tiniest blooms. When the behemoths move on they leave a path of destruction, yet what looks like carnage is a renaissance, for the elephants fulfil a vital role in purging the delicate ecosystem so that new life can flourish. From beneath a canopy of lush, damp foliage the complex aromas of Zoologist Elephant emerge: an invigorating mixture of Darjeeling and incense swirling with hints of coconut and cocoa. With the patience of a foraging herd stripping bark from a thicket, the fragrance dissipates gradually, revealing the core of the perfume, a satisfying blend of woody notes that dries down to an elegant, natural sandalwood scent.
