Lineage by Amouage is one of the most artistic and distinctive modern releases from the house. Launched in 2023 and created by perfumer Karine Vinchon Spehner, it was inspired by the mineral shores of Masirah Island, Oman—sun, sea spray, warm skin, rocks, and sacred resins. It’s often described as an “ambery aquatic,” blending oceanic freshness with frankincense and myrrh in a uniquely Amouage way.

How It Smells

It opens with a striking burst of ginger, Sichuan pepper, Peruvian pepper, and saffron—spicy, radiant, and sparkling like warm sea air. In the heart, frankincense and myrrh create a resinous sacred glow, while fenugreek adds an unusual maple-like warmth. The drydown of labdanum, benzoin, vetiver, and patchouli gives mineral amber depth with a salty-skin effect. The overall impression is spicy, resinous, airy, mineralic, and unforgettable.
