Taif is a mountain region of Saudi Arabia, the kingdom's summer capital and famous for the rose fields on its slopes. Roja Dove draws on that setting: a luminous rose lifted by aldehydes, bergamot and blackcurrant, with the scent of frankincense and oud bakhoor drifting through the air, conjuring sun-warmed skin and a cool mountain breeze.
Opening
Bright and fizzy: aldehydes and bergamot give the rose an airy, sparkling lift.
Heart
Rose at its centre, with geranium, jasmine, ylang ylang, clove buds and a dark-fruited touch of blackcurrant.
Dry Down
Warm and resinous: oud, frankincense, labdanum and benzoin, softened by vanilla, patchouli and musk.
