Vanilla Powder Extrait by Matière Première is a luxurious, addictive vanilla in which dark Madagascar vanilla meets creamy white musks, soft coconut powder, palo santo and warm tonka bean. Richer and more intimate than the original Eau de Parfum, it wraps the skin in velvety sweetness and elegant depth.

The Story

Perfumer Aurélien Guichard, founder of Matière Première, imagined a dark vanilla bean painted white: a deep, supple vanilla with a salty facet, contrasted with modern white powders. The extrait raises the dosage of the hero ingredient, vanilla absolute from Fair for Life land in Madagascar, and adds a guest ingredient, Venezuelan tonka bean absolute, which unveils a new and unexpected facet of the original.

How It Smells

Opening
A fluffy veil of coconut powder and airy white musks gives a soft, skin-like sweetness.

Heart
The Madagascar vanilla becomes richer and smoother than in the original version, dark and supple rather than overly sweet, with a hint of salt.

Dry Down
Tonka bean adds almond-like warmth and toasted depth, while palo santo brings a subtle smoky woodiness. The effect is creamy, sensual, powdery and seductive: less loud than the Eau de Parfum, but deeper and more refined.
