Lamar Noir

Light, dark and the pull between them. Lamar Noir by Kajal explores the seductive contrast between light and darkness. A luminous opening of bergamot, crisp green apple and tropical fruit gives way to caramel and vanilla, then to dark leather, oud and warm woods, composed by Patrick Müller of LUZI.

The Story

Lamar Noir is not a direct flanker of the original Lamar, which was created by Mark Buxton. According to Patrick Müller, the aim was a version that is edgier, bolder and darker while keeping Lamar's core character: he reduced the rosy floral element and added oud, woody, animalic and leather materials. The result is much darker and more assertive than the original Lamar.

How It Smells

Opening
Bright, juicy and fruity, with bergamot, crisp apple and tropical fruit providing immediate sweetness, softened by delicate violet. Very quickly, however, the composition becomes darker.

Heart
A decadent heart of creamy caramel and vanilla, wrapped in balsamic warmth, rose and geranium, adds a smooth gourmand quality and richness.

Dry Down
Dark leather, smoky woods and oud take over, with guaiac wood, cashmere wood, sandalwood, amber, moss and musk beneath, while traces of fruit and sweetness remain. Sensual, slightly animalic and dramatically woody. Think juicy tropical fruit, caramel, dark leather, oud and warm woods.
